And the life that rises between them.   The Perspective of Trinity   Trinity is not a design concept. Through Sea, Flower, and Earth, it is a way of understanding circulation. Ryuka entrusts this cycle to glass.       Sea — That which transforms   The sea never stays the same. It reflects light, moves with the wind, and shifts endlessly.       Terra — That which supports   The earth does not speak. Drawn to the warmth and intention within a one-of-a-kind glass A presence that captured me in an instant The first time I encountered the works of Niji Glass Studio, I was left without words. Their colors reflected the nature of Okinawa—much like a bracelet once gifted to me by my mother. Each form was unique, carrying a quiet sense of life. Unlike perfectly uniform mass-produced pieces, these works held a distinct sense of grace and warmth. The experience of choosing one piece—just for myself—became a lasting memory. In that moment, I realized: this feeling is exactly what I wish to share through Ryuka.       A legacy of pride and quiet dedication   When I visited the studio, what moved me most was seeing the spirit and craft passed from father to son. Working with recycled glass—an unforgiving material— the artisans continue to create with unwavering belief: that its warmth cannot be replaced. What I witnessed was more than craftsmanship. It was a living practice—one that carries culture and pride into the future.       A shared origin: delivering a smile   “There is no greater reward than seeing a customer smile.” These words resonated deeply with me. Having spent years creating meaningful moments for each individual in the sky, I recognized the same origin in their philosophy. Maker, curator, and the one who receives— connected through a single moment of fulfillment. Seiichiro Inamine — The Essence of Ryukyu Glass   Where glass is given life again   In Okinawa, there is a place where glass—once discarded—receives a second life. At Niji Glass Studio, Seiichiro Inamine continues this process, carrying tradition while pursuing a form of expression that is entirely his own. His works go beyond craft. They embody a quiet intention—something that resonates deeply with those who hold them. Why do they feel so distinct? Why do they bring a sense of warmth the moment they are touched? The answer lies in his philosophy.     Craft shaped by a single moment   There was a time when his work was simply routine. That changed after an encounter with a customer. A woman, who had always chosen his father’s work, selected one of his pieces and said, “This is beautiful. I’m glad I chose it.” “That smile gave me strength. From that moment, I began putting my soul into each piece.” At the core is a simple belief: a love for people. His aim is not to create objects, but pieces that bring quiet comfort and a sense of connection in everyday life.     The value of what cannot be repeated   Among many glass studios in Okinawa, Niji stands apart. Rather than pursuing uniformity or mass production, each piece is formed freely, without molds. No two are ever the same. This is not inefficiency— it is intention. “Do not imitate.
